Our Classes

Each term of training will follow a set learning plan which aims to grow the childs development, classes1confidence and ability. Above all, we aim to encourage all children to get involved and have fun!

SoccerCubs – Age 2-4 years
SoccerBears – Age 4-6 years

Training for ages 6+ will be available in 2015.

Classes are tailored to suit the age group participating, and will change each week so as to allow skills to constantly grow. We will cover the following activities:

  • Ice Breakers and introductions
  • Warm Up
  • Co-ordination skills
  • Football Drills
  • Ball Games
  • Matches (Inter-group matches at the end of each term)

Due to the overlap in age ranges for each class, children are moved up or down depending on the exact age (number of years AND months) along with advice from the coaches and the parents preference.

2-4 years - SoccerCubs

An exciting and innovative lesson plan which combines a qualified FA coach and a musical entertainer to make sessions fun while also developing a child’s footballing skills.

Our SoccerCubs class begins with a welcome, incorporating a song for the early stages age groups (2-3yrs) and a cheer for the Independent stages (3-4yrs). The classes then kick off with a dynamic warm-up, followed by muscle-warming stretches to get everyone ready for action.

The bulk of each lesson focuses on skill development activities with a focus on hand-eye co-ordination and working as a team (sharing), and games which include progression, pressure and direction with an ending point (i.e. goal or end line).

Having fun and developing core skills is the central goal of the class. Our coaches focus on the basic skills which are integral to the beautiful game (i.e. dribbling, passing, shooting, defending and shielding) in order to optimize the experience for each child.  Every session culminates in a scrimmage game (adapted variations for younger age groups) to familiarise each child with the structure of a game setting, while always encouraging our players with positive reinforcement.

Each child will receive a personalised football kit upon registration. Medals are issued at the end of each lesson for Cub of the match, best defender and top goalscorer! Each child will have a chance to take home the medal at least once throughout the term.

4-6 years - SoccerBears

Intimate classes which are taken by two FA qualified coaches. At this age developing basic skills is the key and we provide the tools necessary to progress.

Our SoccerBears class begins with a welcome, incorporating cheers for everyone. An ice breaking session involving gentle football themed games allow the kids to learn each other’s name and get used to the coaches. The classes then kick off with a dynamic warm-up followed by muscle-warming stretches to get everyone ready for action. Examples include the robot run where children run around and when given a command, carry out an action i.e clap your hands or stand on one leg. The lesson moves onto fun games such as ‘robin hood’ (teams have to take as many balls from the middle as possible with the help of their team-mates) or ‘bears and cubs’ (each cub runs with a ball and 2-3 bears are given the task of kicking the ball away from their feet). Skill development is the central goal of the class, so our coaches focus on the basic skills which are integral to the beautiful game (i.e. dribbling, passing, shooting, defending and shielding) in order to optimize the experience for each child.  Each lesson focuses on different skills each week. At the end of each session the kids play small sided matches with the idea of educating them how to play as a team while understanding the rules and mostly importantly have fun!

Each child will receive a personalised football kit upon registration. Medals are issued at the end of each lesson for Bear of the match, best defender and top goalscorer! Each child will have a chance to take home the medal at least once throughout the term.

Training for ages 6+ will be available soon.
